LyNette Jael Lewis was born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S Virgin Islands on March 3, 1981. Her primary education consisted of graduation from Joseph Sibilly Elementary School, from Addelita Cancryn Junior High School and from Charlotte Amalie High School in 1998. From this fine foundation of primary learning, she established her academic interest and future by always striving to achieve top honors. In her continued education she obtained the following degrees: Associate Degree-Food and Beverage Management, Associate Degree - Drafting and Computer Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts-Visual Communication, Associate Degree - Web Design. In all of these endeavors she achieved a high level of success, graduating with Summa cum Laude, 4.0 GPA and Elite Honors. She loved to read and was an avid explorer of creative outlets. It was at this time in her life that she gained skills as an illustrator, editor, writer and poet. It was during one of her creative writing periods that she reflected on her childhood memories of St. Thomas. She decided to share those wonderful experiences through a children’s book entitled Journey to Buck Island. This beautifully written and illustrated book brought to life the joy of friendships all the while educating young readers about animals and marine life throughout the Virgin Islands. Unfortunately, this would be her one and only completed book. She died on May 10, 2010 at 30 years of age.
